The Neighbourhood Plan for Sandon Parish
What is it? It is a document very like the Village Design Statement we already have but it will be in line with the Chelmsford City Council’s Local Plan and will be a legal document.
It will give the aspirations of the population of Sandon, and is Community led. It is your chance to have your say about what you want for our villages of Sandon. An NP will have more force than simply objecting piecemeal to individual developments
The final plan was agreed and voted on 23rd November 2023. You can view the plan HERE
The following is a potted history of the key stages that needed to be followed in order to get to the final plan.
There are plans to put houses everywhere in Essex, and we could be asked to have a large number within the Parish. In the first draft we were being given 250 on the field North of Sandon School plus a Commercial area next to Sandon Park and Ride. When the final Local Plan comes out in January we could be asked to have many more houses!!!
It is proposed to send a questionnaire to everyone in the Parish and you MUST read it and respond to it. If we have a Neighbourhood Plan being written we WILL have a say in what type, and where, we would like them built. This is your opportunity to shape the future of your area.
